Let \(F\) be a field extension of a field \(K\). The field \(F\) is a Lüroth field extension of \(K\) if \(\text{tr.deg}_K(F)\geq 1\) and each subfield \(K \subset E \subseteq F\) with \(\text{tr.deg}_K(E)=1\) has the form \(K(e)\) for some transcendental element \(e\in E\). The author proves that a purely transcendental field extension \(F(x_1, \ldots, x_n)\) of the Lüroth field extension \(F\) of the field \(K\) of characteristic zero and algebraically closed in \(F\) is also a Lüroth field extension of \(K\). If, in addition, \(K\) is algebraically closed, this result implies that for any \(K\)-subalgebra \(R\) of \(K(x_1,\ldots,x_n)\) with field of fractions \(Q(R)\) of transcendence degree 1 over \(K\) and integrally closed in \(K(x_1,\ldots,x_n)\), there exists a transcendental over \(K\) element \(x\in R\) such that \(K[x] \subseteq R \subseteq K(x) = Q(R)\).
