A closed subset \(B\) of a Banach space \(X\) is said to have the point of continuity property (PCP) if for every weakly closed bounded subset \(A\subset B\), the identity map \(i:(A,weak)\rightarrow (A,\| \cdot\| )\) has a point of continuity. The author starts by giving a proof for the following equivalent formulations of \(B\) having the PCP. (1) For any weakly closed bounded subset \(A\subset B\), the identity map \(i:(A,weak)\rightarrow (A,\| \cdot\| )\) is continuous on a dense \(G_\delta\) of \((A,weak)\). (2) Each bounded \(A\subset B\) is huskable. (3) For any weakly closed bounded subset \(A\subset B\), the space \((A,weak)\) is a Namioka space. Since a set is huskable if every countable subset is huskable, PCP is separably determined. Thus it is important to find out when separable subsets \(B\) have the PCP. The following result is proved (which seems connected to a characterization of PCP given by V. P. Fonf): A closed bounded separable subset \(B\) of the Banach space \(X\) possesses the PCP if and only if there is a countable \(\Gamma\subset B_{\ast}\) which is 1-norming for \(A\) and for which \((A,\sigma(A,\Gamma))\) is metrizable by a complete metric. Towards the end of the paper, the author discusses the properties RNP, PCP and WRNP. It is not difficult to see that in general RNP \(\Rightarrow\) PCP. The converse is not true. The author observes that, for a dual space, PCP \(\Rightarrow\) WRNP and gives an example to show that the converse is not true (note an extra `not' at the beginning of line 27 on page 530).
