Plücker-type relations for orthogonal planes (Q557208)

The classical Plücker relation describes projective embeddings of Grassmannian manifolds. In this article the authors consider a \(d\)-dimensional vector space with an inner product of Euclidean or Lorentzian signature, and they formulate a conjecture that generalizes both the classical Plücker relation and the Jacobi identity for Lie algebras with an invariant inner product. It is outlined that this conjecture arises naturally in certain supergravity theories. Some special cases, for which the conjecture can be proven to be true, are discussed
