The author considers some particular nontrivial line bundles defined on the connected component \({\mathcal F}_0(H)\) of the identity of the Fredholm operators on a Hilbert space \(H\), showing that they are canonically isomorphic. More precisely, he considers the determinant line bundle, \({\mathcal L}_F\), induced by the Fredholm determinant \(\det_F(1+K)=\prod(1+\lambda_i)\), where \(\lambda_i\) are the eigenvalues of \(K\in{\mathcal F}_0(H)\), and the Quillen determinant line bundle, \[ {\mathcal L}_F\equiv\bigcup_{K\in {\mathcal F}_0(H)}\bigwedge^{\dim\ker(K)} \ker(K)^*\otimes\bigwedge^{\dim \text{coker} (K)}\text{coker}(K). \] Furthermore, he shows that these bundles trivialize on some suitable subspaces of \({\mathcal F}_0(H)\), as, for example, on each compact subset of selfadjont Fredholm operators and Fredholm Lagrangian Grassmannian. Finally, he suggests that it should be worthwhile to find an isomorphism, on Fredholm Lagrangian Grassmannian, between the above line bundles and the Maslov line bundle, that is globally trivial, in order to obtain a relation between the Fredholm determinant and the Maslov index.
