This paper investigates the interaction of a piezoelectric screw dislocation with an interphase layer between an inclusion and an infinite piezoelectric continuum, as an extension of the authors' earlier works. The annular interface with a finite thickness, the circular inclusion and the continuum (matrix) are assumed to be of transversely isotropic piezoelectric materials that have been poled along a direction normal to an isotropic plane. The piezoelectric screw dislocation is located at an arbitrary point either inside the matrix or the inclusion. The three-phase (inclusion-interphase-matrix) materials are perfectly bonded together with no mechanical and electrical loads at infinity. The electroelastic interaction is examined by an efficient method by combining a sectional holomorphic function, the Cauchy-type integral and Laurent series expansion techniques. The relations among the complex potential for the three regions are obtained. The image force on the dislocation is evaluated by means of the generalised Peach-Koehler formula, and the variation of the dislocation force is obtained numerically for three practical cases.
