In welchen endlichen Gruppen \(\mathfrak G\) kann man einen echten Teilkomplex \(\mathfrak K\) an heben, der mit je zwei verschiedenen Elementen auch stets deren Produkt enthält und der die ganze Gruppe erzeugt? Diese Frage läßt sich vollständig beantworten; es gibt drei Typen: (1) Die zyklische Gruppe \(\mathfrak G=\{Z\}\) der Ordnung \(g\) mit \(g>1\) und \(\mathfrak K =Z\) oder mit \(g > 2\) und \(\mathfrak K=E+Z\) oder mit \(g > 3\) und \(\mathfrak K = E + Z + Z^{-1}\). (2) Die abelsche Gruppe \(\mathfrak G\) der Ordnung \(2^\alpha \) vom Typus \((1,1,\ldots,1)\) mit \(\mathfrak K =\mathfrak G-E\). (3) Die Quaternionengruppe, wobei \(\mathfrak K\) aus den 6 Elementen der Ordnung 4 und und dem Einheitselement \(E\) besteht.
