Verf. weist darauf hin, daß\ die von \textit{Relton} studierte Beziehung (siehe vorangehendes Referat) als Sonderfall in einer von ihm früher (Proceedings L. M. S. (2) 16 (1917) 301-314 (F. d. M. 46, 585 (JFM 46.0585.*)), insbesondere S. 308) gegebenen Darstellung von \(Q_n^m(\cosh \alpha )\) als Aggregat zweier Integrale enthalten ist, deren eines für halbzahliges \(n\) in Wegfall kommt (man ersetzte dann \(n\) durch \(m-\frac 12,\;m\) durch \(n\)). Er skizziert einen vereinfachten Beweis, bei dem nicht mehr, wie früher, zugeordnete \textit{Legendre}funktionen erster Art benützt werden.
