Für den Halbmesser \(x\) des Kreises, der von den Seiten \(a\), \(b\), \(c\) des Dreiecks mit dem Inhalt \(\varDelta \) Sehnen von den Längen \(2l\), \(2m\), \(2n\) abschneidet, besteht die Gleichung \[ a\,\sqrt {x^2-l^2} + b\,\sqrt {x^2-m^2} + c\,\sqrt {x^2-n^2} = 2\varDelta . \] Für drei besondere Fälle wird eine geometrische Konstruktion des Kreises gegeben: (1) \ \(l= m= 0\); (2) \ \(l= m\), \(n=0\); (3) \ \(x = l\), \(m\neq n\).
