Topological structure of cherry fows on the torus (Q579707)

A class of \(C^{\infty}\)-flows on the torus \(T^ 2\) having a nowhere dense quasiminimal set \(\Omega\) and a finite set of saddles lying on \(\Omega\) is considered. The notions of black cells and grey cells are introduced and their existence is studied. The paper also contains the following important conclusion: the set \(\Sigma^ r_ 1(T^ 2)\) of \(C^ r\)-vector fields which are structurally stable in the set \({\mathcal X}^ r_ 1(T^ 2)={\mathcal X}^ r(T^ 2)\setminus \Sigma^ r_ 0(T^ 2)\) of nonstructurally stable fields is not dense in \({\mathcal X}^ r_ 1(T^ 2)\) for \(r\geq 3\).
