Lattice varieties covering \(V(L_ 1)\) (Q580383)

The following problem is open: does every variety generated by a finite lattice have only finitely many covers, each generated by a finite lattice? The author develops methods concerning this problem. Applying his approach he proves: if L is the seven-element non-modular dual- semimodular lattice then the variety V(L) generated by L has only finitely many (twenty-five) covers, each of these varieties is generated by a finite lattice; all these generators are given.
