\textit{R. Bittner} [Stud. Math. 20, 1-18 (1961; Zbl 0097.105)] gave a basis for a theory of abstract differential equations. Many authors developed the ideas of R. Bittner. The author of this paper is engaged with the boundary value problem for such an abstract differential equation. Suppose we are given linear spaces \(L^ 0\) and \(L^ 1\) and linear operators S, T and \(s_ q\) such that \(S: L^ 1\to L^ 0\), \(T: L^ 0\to L^ 1\) and \(s_ q: L^ 1\to \ker S\). The operators S, T and \(s_ q\) satisfy some additional conditions, too. For \(L^ 1\subset L^ 0\), \(L^ 2\) is defined as \(L^ 2=\{x\in L^ 1\), \(Sx\in L^ 1\}\); the linear operator B maps \(L^ 2\) into ker S. The abstract differential equation considered by the author is: \(S^ 2x=f\) with conditions \(s_ qSx=x_{1,q}\), \(Bx=x_ B\), where \(x\in L^ 2\), \(f\in L^ 0\) and \(x_{1,q},x_ B\in \ker S\). His results are related to the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the given problem. In my opinion, the author had to compare his results with the results of \textit{D. Przeworska-Rolewicz} [Demonstr. Math. 7, 365-380 (1974; Zbl 0291.47009)]. But he did not mention it.
