Singular integral equations of the first kind with a Cauchy kernel - revisited (Q580630)

The author considers the integral equation (1) \(\int^{1}_{0}\phi (\tau)(t-\tau)^{-1}d\tau =\psi (t)\), \(0<t<1\) with Cauchy kernel. He derives the solution of equation (1) by a formal but direct method and compares this method with other methods known in the literature [f.e. \textit{F. D. Gakhow}, Boundary value problems (1966; Zbl 0141.080), p. 427].
