The author considers initial boundary value problems for a class of nonlinear scalar parabolic equations depending on a parameter. The corresponding stationary problem may have infinitely many solutions no solution or exactly one solution, depending on the value of the parameter. The author uses Hopf-Cole transformation and spectral theory to get an explicit expression for the solution of the parabolic problem and studies the asymptotic behaviour of solutions as time t goes to infinity.
