A sequential space is called ultrasequential (us-space) if it has a point-countable k-network. In \textit{G. Grünhage}, \textit{E. Michael} and \textit{Y. Tanaka}, Pac. J. Math. 113, 303-332 (1984; Zbl 0561.54016) us- spaces were studied and some questions were posed. The author generalizes those results and some examples. He defines semiquotient ws-mappings and characterizes us-spaces: a space is ultrasequential iff it is the image of metrizable space under a semiquotient ws-mapping. Cardinal invariants of us-spaces are investigated. It is given the example of us-space which is the s-image of a metrizable space and has not closed point-countable k-network.
