Using intersection homology theory, \textit{M. Goresky} and \textit{R. MacPherson} defined the Hirzebruch l-homology class for compact oriented PL-pseudo-manifolds which can be stratified with only strate of even codimension [Topology 19, 135-165 (1980; Zbl 0448.55004)]. The author of the current paper proves the following intersection formula for Hirzebruch L-homology classes: \(f_*L_*(X)\cdot g_*L_*()=h_*L_*(X\cdot Y)\cap l^*(M)\) where (1) \(l^*(M)\) denotes the L-cohomology class of an oriented PL-manifold M, (2) X and Y are compact oriented PL-pseudo-manifolds, possibility with boundary, which can be stratified with only strate of even codimension, (3) f: \(X\to M\), g: \(Y\to M\) are proper PL-embeddings with \(X\cdot Y=X\cap Y\) with the canonical orientation, and h: \(X\cdot Y\to M\) the inclusion, and (4) given a and b in \(H_*(M,\partial M;Q)\), \(a\cdot b=[M]\cap (([M]\cap)^{-1}a\cup ([M]\cap)^{-1}b).\)
