Let X be an FK-space containing \(\phi\). Then there exist \(\mu\)-unique matrices D such that \(\phi \subset c_ A\subset X\). [For notations, see \textit{A. Wilansky}, Summability through functional analysis (1984; Zbl 0531.40008)]. Using the \(\mu\)-functional \(\mu_ D\) defined for summability domains \(c_ D\), we set \[ \mu_ X^{\perp}:=\cap_{\phi \subset c_ D\subset X}\{f\in X':\mu_ D(f|_{c_ D})=0\} \] (with \(\mu_ D\equiv 0\) for D non-\(\mu\)-unique) and define X to be \(\mu\)-unique iff \(\mu_ X^{\perp}\neq X'\). This is consistent with the notion of \(\mu\)-uniqueness which has been defined in the case \(X=c_ A\), and by extending a result due to Wilansky we show that \(\mu_ X^{\perp}\) is \(\beta (X',X)\)-closed in \(X'\). We also extend the notion of the distinguished subset P. Interalia, we obtain the result that the co-dimension of \({\bar \phi}\) in P is not bigger than that of \(\mu_ X^{\perp}\) in \(X'\), and both can exceed 1.
