The paper studies the set of periodic points \(P(f)\) of a mapping \(f: X\to X\), where \(X\) is a tree. The main result describes the least elements in the ordering of periodics of these mappings. The main result states that if a mapping of a tree with \(m\) endpoints has a periodic point (or period \(\geq 2)\), then there exists a periodic point of period \(\leq m\).
