Under a set theoretic hypothesis strictly weaker than Martin's Axiom, the authors show that there exists a measurable set \(A\subset {\mathbb{R}}\) such that the set \(\{c\in {\mathbb{R}}:A+cA\) contains an interval\(\}\) is nonmeasurable (where \(A+cA=\{x+cy:x,y\in A\})\). They also prove some more statements involving sets of the form \(A+cA\).
