On the rational recursive sequence (Q5891714)

The author considers positive solutions of the difference equation \[ \displaystyle{x_{n+1}=Ax_n + Bx_{n-k} + {{1+x_nx_{n-k}}\over{px_n+x_{n-k}}}\;,\;n=0,1,2,\ldots} \] where \(k\) is a positive integer, \(A\), \(B\), \(p>0\) as well as the initial conditions \(x_{-k}>0, \ldots,x_{-1}>0, ~x_0>0\). The introductory part contains a review of the basic stability for difference equations. Next stability by the first approximation and periodic solutions are discussed. Other problems are boundedness and global stability. Some illustrative numerical examples are shown.
