This is the 2nd edition of the famous book [Zbl 1006.35002] devoted to the modern theory of hyperbolic conservation laws. The presentation is self-contained and largely based on the front-tracking construction. In the new edition, the authors have polished the presentation in many places. They also have added some new material including a section on linear equations, a section on higher order schemes, and a new chapter on one-dimensional scalar conservation laws with space-discontinuous flux. Chapter 5 is supplemented by the completed solution of the Riemann problem to 3D Euler system of gas dynamics. The book is well written, well illustrated (it contains even cartoons) and may be recommended not only to experienced specialists in conservation laws but also to students specialized in this field.
