The author investigates the value distributions of some difference polynomials in transcendental meromorphic functions. One of the main results is the following: Let \(f(z)\) be a transcendental meromorphic function of finite order \(\sigma(f)\) and let \(S(z)=R(z)e^{Q(z)}\), where \(R(z)\) is a non-zero rational function and \(Q(z)\) is a polynomial that satisfies \(\deg Q<\sigma(f)\). If \(\lambda(1/f)<\sigma(f)\) and \(\sum_{j=1}^n \nu_j \geq 3\), and \(\nu_j\geq 2\) for at least one \(j\), then \(\prod_{j=1}^n f(z+c_j)^{\nu_j}-S_j(z)\) has infinitely many zeros. One of the tools for the proof is the difference analogue of the logarithmic derivative lemma obtained in [\textit{R. G. Halburd} and \textit{R. J. Korhonen}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 314, No. 2, 477--487 (2006; Zbl 1085.30026)] and [\textit{Y.-M. Chiang} and \textit{S.-J. Feng}, Ramanujan J. 16, No. 1, 105--129 (2008; Zbl 1152.30024)].
