    The authors obtain the existence of at least three positive solutions for some one-dimensional \(p\)-Laplacian equations of the form \[ \left(\varphi_p\left(x^{\prime}(t) \right) \right)^{\prime}+q(t)f(t,x(t),x^{\prime}(t)) =0,~~t\in (0,1), \] satisfying the boundary conditions \[ \alpha\varphi_p\left(x(0)\right)-\beta \varphi_p\left(x^{\prime}(0)\right)=0,~~~~\gamma\varphi_p\left(x(1)\right)+\delta \varphi_p\left(x^{\prime}(1)\right)=0, \] or \[ x(0)-g_1\left( x^{\prime}(0)\right)=0,~~~~x(1)+g_2\left( x^{\prime}(1)\right)=0, \] with \(\varphi_p(s)=| s| ^{p-2}s\) and \(p>1\). The assumptions on the data involved permit the application of a fixed-point theorem due to \textit{R. I. Avery} and \textit{A. C. Peterson} [Comput. Math. Appl. 42, 313--322 (2001; Zbl 1005.47051)].
