5000 years of geometry. History, cultures, people (Q5894913)

This is the second edition of a voluminous book on ``5000 years of geometry, history, cultures, men''. The edition differs from the first one (2001; Zbl 0979.01001) by an added section on geometry in old American cultures (Eskimos, Aztecs, Mayas, Incas), enriched with 18 (mostly colorful) illustrations, and by some minor corrections or additions, including two new plates showing ziggurat and pyramid of Cheops. The additions make the book even more valuable. \{Predicting further editions, I would suggest new sections on those developments in the 20th century which greatly enhanced our comprehension of space, e.g., modern differential geometry and cosmology, Hilbert spaces and quantum theory, geometry on 3-dimensional manifolds\}.
