Some weighted polynomial inequalities (Q5896244)

We obtain inequalities of Markov and Nikolskij type for polynomials with weight \(W_{\beta}(x)=(1+x^ 2)^{\beta /2}\exp(-x^ 2/2)\) (\(\beta\geq 0)\) on (-\(\infty,\infty)\) and with weight \(V_{\beta}(x)=(1+x)^{\beta /2}\exp(-x/2)\) (\(\beta\geq 0)\) on \((0,\infty)\). The inequalities for (- \(\infty,\infty)\) improve earlier results of the author [J. Approximation Theory 37, 137-146 (1983; Zbl 0508.41012)] and are related to earlier work of \textit{G. Freud} [Math. Z. 126, 123-134 (1972; Zbl 0222.41004)].
