The author says that applying the infinite-dimensional theory he can get a simple proof of the Cauchy-Kowalevski theorem, in an infinite-dimensional version which seems to be new. Let \(K= \mathbb{R}\) or \(= \mathbb{C}\) and \(f\) be an analytic map on an open subset \(\text{dom\,} f\) of \(K\times F\), taking its value in in \(F\), where \(F\) is a Banach space. Given \((t_0,u_0)\in \text{dom\,}f\), introduce in the local analytic solution of the Cauchy problem \[ {du\over dt}= f(t,u),\qquad u(t_0)= u_0, \] i.c. analytic germ \(\varphi(t_0)= u_0\) which satisfies the initial condition \(\varphi(t_0)= u_0\) and are solutions of the differential equation \({du\over dt}=f (t,u)\), meaning that \(\varphi'(t)= f(t,\varphi(t))\). Under these conditions the above Cauchy problem has a unique-local analytic solution.
