According to the paper of \textit{A. Beurling} [Quasi-analyticity and general distributions, Lectures 4 and 5, A. M. S. Summer Institute, Stanford (1961)], Beurling distributions are seen to be a proper generalization of Schwartz distributions. In the present paper, the authors generalise the theory of Periodic distributions [Distribution theory and Transform analysis, by \textit{A. H. Zemanian} (1965; Zbl 0127.072)] on \(R^ 1\) to Beurling distributions. The work follows closely that of Chapter 11 of the above book of Zemanian. A Beurling periodic distribution on \(R^ 1\) was defined as a distribution \(f\in {\mathcal D}'\!_{\omega}\) (space of Beurling distributions on \(R^ 1)\) such that \[ <f(t),\phi (t+2\pi)>=<f(t),\phi (t)> \] for all \(\phi\in {\mathcal D}_{\omega}\) (Beurling test function space). Let \(\Gamma\) be the unit circle. The space \({\mathcal P}'\!_{\omega}={\mathcal P}'\!_{\omega}(\Gamma)\) of all continuous linear functionals on \({\mathcal P}_{\omega}\) was called the space of Beurling distributions on \(\Gamma\). The elements of \({\mathcal P}'_{\omega}\) are then characterized by the Fourier Series representation. The authors define the convolution product of any two elements of \({\mathcal P}'_{\omega}\) which they call \(2\pi\)-convolution. Furthermore, the authors generalize some results of \textit{R. R. Goldberg}, [J. Approx. Th. 3, 149-155 (1970; Zbl 0191.409)] concerning the connection between Fourier coefficients and Fourier transforms. Lastly, as an application, a nice and interesting characterisation of those harmonic functions on the unit disc having boundary values in \({\mathcal P}'_{\omega}\) is given.
