    The functional equation \(S^*(T(x,y),T(x,N(y)))=x\) is solved, where all functions occurring are unknown, \(S^*\) is an Archimedean t-conorm (i.e., \(1-S^*(1-x,1-y)\) is an Archimedean t-norm), T is a t-norm and N is a strong negation (i.e., a strictly decreasing function N: [0,t]\(\to [0,1]\) such that \(N(0)=1\), \(N(1)=0\) and \(N[N(x)]=x\) for every \(x\in [0,1])\). It is also proved that the only binary operation on the interval [0,1] which is associative, non-decreasing (or continuous) in its second variable and fulfils the equation \(G(x,y)+G(x,1-y)=x\) is the product xy.
