      Let \(C^{\infty}\) (resp. \({\mathcal D})\) be the space of the infinitely differentiable functions (resp. of the distributions) on \(G=R/(2\pi Z)\), and let E be a Banach space of distributions on G such that (1) \(C^{\infty}\subset E\subset D\), (2) the inclusion \(E\to D\) is continuous, (3) \(T_ xE\subset E\) and \(\| T_ xf\|_ E=\| f\|_ E\) for every \(x\in R\), \(f\in E\), (4) Ě\(\subset E\), where \(T_ x\) is the translation: \(T_ xf(.)=f(.-x)\), and \(^{\vee}\) is the symmetry: \v{f}(t)\(=f(-t).\) E is called homogeneous if the mapping \(x\to T_ xf\) is continuous from R into E for every \(f\in E\), and it is proved, among others, that E is homogeneous iff E and its dual \(E^*\) are (C,1)-complementary, i.e. for any \(f\in E\), \(f\in E^*\) the series \(\sum_{k\in Z}\hat F(k)\hat f(- k)\) is (C,1)-summable to F(f), where \(^{\wedge}\) denotes the Fourier coefficient. It is also shown that E is homogeneous and reflexive iff \(E^*\) is so.
