Let \(f:\quad X\to C\) be a proper surjective morphism from an algebraic complex manifold X to a non-singular irreducible curve C. - It is conjectured that the m-th plurigenus of a non-singular fibre \(f^{- 1}(p)\) is independent of p and that the sum of the m-th plurigenera of the components of a singular fibre is smaller than or equal to the m-th plurigenus of a non-singular fibre. Generalizing results of S. Iitaka (dim X\(=3)\) and M. Levine the author proves both conjectures under the assumption that X has a minimal model (with \({\mathbb{Q}}\)-factorial terminal singularities) and that the general fibre has a minimal model with semi- ample canonical sheaf.
