The theoretical work reported here is basically motivated by the fact that for a more realistic description of capillary-tissue fluid exchange processes, e.g., movement of body fluids through tissue compartments or across membranes, one needs to properly account for velocity slip at the porous interface and to consider the viscosity of the core region fluid to be depending upon viscosity of the surrounding medium. The author has thus discussed two cases, one in which the capillary is in direct communication with the tissue and in the other case a permeable membrane separates the capillary and the tissue regions. Some useful conclusions, particularly about filtration efficiency, have been drawn.
