This paper is concerned with operational properties of a convolution type integral transform whose kernel is a MacDonald type Bessel function of zero order. In fact, the integral transform is defined by \(F(x)=\int^{\infty}_{-\infty}K_ 0\) \((| x-t|)\)f(t)dt. Its inverse was obtained in the form \(f(x)=-(1/\pi^ 2)(D^ 2- 1)\int^{\infty}_{-\infty}K_ 0\) \((| x-t|)\)F(t)dt where \(D\equiv d/dx\). Several interesting results including a Parseval type equation and transforms of some simple functions are proved. Finally, the transform is applied to obtain the solution of some associated integral equations one of which is of Wiener-Hopf type. This paper contains some new and interesting results.
