Let E be a Hausdorff locally convex space (l.c.s.) over the field of real or complex numbers and K a compact space. Denote by C(K,E) the space of all continuous functions defined on K endowed with the uniform topology, and L(E,F) the space of all continuous linear operators from E to F. It is said that \(T\in L(E,F)\) is weakly compact if T maps bounded sets of E into weakly relatively compact sets of F, a Dunford-Pettis operator if T maps weakly relatively compact sets into relatively compact ones, and a strict Dunford-Pettis operator if \((Tx_ n)\) is a Cauchy sequence in F for any weak Cauchy sequence \((x_ n)\) in E. In this paper, the authors define that E has D.P. (resp. strict D.P.) property if for any Banach space F every \(T\in L(E,F)\) weakly compact is a Dunford-Pettis (resp. strict Dunford-Pettis) operator. They give a space with the strict D.P. property and without the D.P. property. They also study the l.c.s. E and the compacts K for which C(K,E) has the strict D.P. or the D.P. property.
