Monotonicity theorems (Q5903696)

The first chapter of the paper presents basic definitions and theorems. In the second one can find relations between classes of functions introduced before. The third chapter contains a proof of a monotonicity theorem which is more general than the well-known theorem of Bruckner. In the fourth chapter there is a discussion of the so-called Foran condition (M) and its connections with monotonicity. The last, unnumbered chapter deals with conditions for monotonicity expressed in terms of classes \([\text{M}_*]\), \([\underline{\text{M}}_*]\) and \([\overline{\text{M}}_*]\) introduced by the author. Most theorems and conditions describing classes of functions are too complicated to be reproduced here. The paper is a good source of knowledge for those interested in monotonicity.
