Let \(M\) be a compact manifold with boundary \(\partial M\). A Riemannian metric on \(M\) is called simple if any two points \(x\), \(y\) are connected by a unique geodesic having all its points in \(M\setminus\partial M\) except the endpoints. We also suppose that these geodesics depend smoothly on their endpoints. For \(x,y\in\partial M\) let \(\Gamma_ g(x,y)\) be the length of the geodesic connecting \(x\) and \(y\). The function \(\Gamma_ g:\partial M\times\partial M\mapsto\mathbb{R}\) is determined uniquely by the Riemannian metric. The paper is devoted to the study of the following problem: Let \(g^ 0,g^ 1\) be two simple metrics on \(M\) with \(\Gamma_{g^ 0}=\Gamma_{g^ 1}\). Does there exist a diffeomorphism \(f: M\to M\) such that \(f_{|\partial M}=id_{\partial M}\) and \(f^*g^ 0=g^ 1\). A solution of this problem under some additional conditions is presented here. The main step of the study of the problem is its linearization together with an application of some methods of integral geometry.
