    It is well-known that the Riemann zeta function possesses the Laurent expansion \[ \zeta(s)={\textstyle {1\over {s-1}}}+ \sum_{n=0}^ \infty {\textstyle{{(-1)^ n} \over {n!}}} \nu(n) (s-1)^ n \] where \[ \nu(n)= \lim_{N\to\infty} \biggl\{ \sum_{k=1}^ N {{\log^ n k} \over k} - {{\log^{n+1} N} \over {n+1}} \biggr\}. \] The author considers series of the form \(\zeta_ h(s)= \sum_{n=M}^ \infty {{h'(n)} \over {h(n)^ s}}\) where \(h(z)\) is regular and non-vanishing in some half plane and satisfies certain growth conditions. The author proves that \(\zeta_ h(s)\) can be continued over the whole plane except for a simple pole at \(s=1\) with residue 1 and then shows that the Laurent series coefficients are defined by limits similar to those for \(\nu(n)\). A number of examples are provided.
