The paper is concerned with the problem of approximating a locally unique common solution of a sequence of nonlinear operator equation. A two-step Newton-like method, which contains as particular cases many commonly used variants of Newton's method, is considered and its convergence in two different settings is studied. Finally, the results are used to solve nonlinear integral equations of Uryson-type.
