    Let \(P(z)\) be a polynomial of degree \(n\). A polar derivative of \(P(z)\) is defined as follows: \[ D_\alpha P(z)= nP(z)+ (\alpha-z) P'(z). \] In this paper the following result is proved: Theorem. If \(P(z)\) is a polynomial of degree \(n\) having no zeros in \(| z|<K\), \(K\geq 1\), then for every complex number \(\beta\), \(\beta\geq 1\) \[ \max_{| z|=1} \bigl | D_\beta P(z) \bigr|\leq {n\over 1+K} \Bigl\{\bigl( |\beta |+K \bigr)\max_{| z| =1} \bigl| P(z) \bigr|- \bigl(|\beta |-1 \bigr) \min_{| z|=K} \bigl| P(z) \bigr | \Bigr\}. \] Since \(\lim_{\beta\to \infty} {D_\beta P(z) \over\beta} =P'(z)\), then this result generalizes some known results concerning derivatives. Many generalizations of these results are also presented.
