The book is multi-folds. It meets at least four main goals: -- to expose the current practice of applied mathematical modeling in economics, ecology, and environmental sciences; -- to find interconnections between various economic, ecological and environmental models; -- to show the ways how to construct, verify and analyze mathematical models for real-life problems; -- to provide theoretical insights to guide the development of practical models. The book is suitable for introductory and advanced courses in mathematical modeling, but is in fact a research monograph rather than a textbook. The organization of the material is as follows: after the list of figures the Preface is proposed to the reader. Here the main ideas are described which put into background of the monograph, its content is reviewed, and some standard notations are recalled. Then follows the Ch. 1 ``Principles of Models Construction'' in which the general principles of modeling and their specification in economic-environmental systems' analysis are introduced. The rest of the book is divided into three parts devoted to different aspects of the problems on the discussion. The substantial list of References and an Index are given at the end. The content of Part I ``Models of Controlled Economic Systems'' is more or less classical. This part consists of 5 chapters and presents the main types of mathematical models exploiting in the economical investigations. The main variables of these models are described, the models themselves are derived, and their analysis is given. Inspite of the clear introductory character of this part the presentation of the models is made on the good level without any simplification. In Part II ``Models in Ecology and Environment'' (Ch. 7-9) another types of models are discussed. Due to their specific object they need to use another theoretical considerations as well as another technique specially developed for this area. The main attention is paid to mathematical models in Biological Communities, air and water pollution propagation. The results presented in Part III ``Models of Economic-Ecological Systems'' (Ch. 10-14) show how the above discussed approaches can be combined with the study of systems of mixed type. Interrelation between economical and ecological systems appear at different level and have different impact into the combined modeling. This direction is highly developing nowadays. Thus the results presented by the known experts in the subject are very interesting. It should be noted that a deep analysis of the main models existing in this area is given, too. It is also one of the advantages of the monograph.
