Let \(k\) be a perfect field of characteristic \(\text{ch} k= p>0\). For \(n>0\), \(m>0\) and \(p \nmid m\) we consider the Fermat variety \(F_{n,m,p} : X_0^m + X_1^m + \cdots + X^m_{n+1} = 0\) in \(\mathbb{P}^{n+1}\) which is defined over \(K\). If for the triple of integers \(\{n,m,p\}\) we have \(n>1\), \(m>2\) and \(p\not \equiv 1 \pmod m\) then, by using \textit{N. Suwa}'s criterion [J. Math. Soc. Japan 45, No. 2, 295-300 (1993; Zbl 0815.14013)], the author characterizes all the Fermat varieties which are of Hodge-Witt type.
