Numerical solution of a hyperbolic system of conservation laws with source term arising in a fluidized bed model (Q5919262)

The authors demonstrated that a simple hyperbolic model of a fluidized bed, without particle viscosity is capable of reproducing the oscillatory behaviour or slugging for sufficiently high gas velocities. Current work is focused on establishing whether the travelling waves found in numerical experiments actually correspond to the solution found by earlier authors. Numerical experiments are performed for demonstration.
