The structure of the finite groups of the title, was considered by \textit{D. Benjamin} for solvable groups [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 125, No. 10, 2831-2837 (1997; Zbl 0889.20004)], and by \textit{M. L. Lewis} and \textit{D. L. White} [J. Algebra 336, No. 1, 158-183 (2011; Zbl 1246.20006)]. The paper under review completes the classification done by Lewis and White [loc. cit.]. Namely the case for such nonsolvable \(G\), with \(L\) some normal solvable subgroup satisfying \(G/L\cong\text{PSL}(2,2^f)\) in which the number of the distinct values of possible irreducible character degrees of \(G\) differs from that of \(G/L\). The work of the authors completes that of Lewis and White [loc. cit.]. Their result is: the set of the distinct values of such a \(G\) is equal to \(\{1,2^f,2^{f+1},2^{f-1},2^{2f-1}\}\). The paper provides also more details on the structure of the groups of the title, extending those of Lewis and White [loc. cit.].
