Exactness of \(G\)-sequences and monomorphisms (Q5925888)

This work is an extension of earlier work on subgroups, of Gottlieb type, of homotopy groups. Specific earlier references are [\textit{M. H. Woo} and \textit{K. Y. Lee}, J. Korean Math. Soc. 25, No. 1, 149-160 (1988; Zbl 0647.55010); \textit{K.Y. Lee} and \textit{M. H. Woo}, Topology Appl. 52, No. 3, 221-236 (1993; Zbl 0792.55006); and \textit{J. Z. Pan}, \textit{X. Shen} and \textit{M. H. Woo}, J. Korean Math. Soc. 35, No. 2, 281-294 (1998; Zbl 0911.55006)]. The main result is a condition for exactness of the \(G\)-sequence (relative) of a pair. The authors also prove that if \(n\neq 7\), every map \(S^n\to S^7\) is not monomorphic.
