The response of an oscillator moving along a parabola to an external excitation (Q5925990)

The author studies the motion of a particle along a parabola in the presence of an external periodic excitation. The asymptotic perturbation method is used, and approximate solutions are obtained up to the fourth order. The author studies how the amplitude of equilibrium points depends on external forces, and gives some phase space representations. Finally, the theoretical results are validated through a numerical integration by using a fifth-order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg scheme.
