Brouwer degree, equivariant maps and tensor powers (Q5926237)

The authors present explicit construction of equivariant maps based on factorization through symmetric powers of a faithful representation. This is important for computing the degree since by the use of some previously created methods the degree for a ``complicated'' map can be calculated if a certain ``simple'' one with prescribed degree is known. Examples of related equivariant maps are given. Applications to differential equations are discussed.
