Let \(\varepsilon> 0\) be a small parameter. This paper deals with the solutions \(u(x,t)\), \(T\)-periodic in \(t\), of the boundary value problem: \[ \varepsilon(u_{xx}- u_t)= A(u,x,t) u_x+ B(u,x,t)\quad\text{in }\Omega= \{(x, t)\mid a< x< b,-\infty< t<+\infty\} \] and \(u(a,t)= u(b,t)= 0\) for all \(t\), where \(A\) and \(B\) are suitable smooth functions, \(T\)-periodic in \(t\). The main result is an existence theorem, which is proved by means of a construction of an asymptotic expansion of \(u\) and the method of barrier functions.
