Model updating using constrained optimization (Q5926727)

The authors present a new model updating method based on constrained optimization and on finite element which addresses difficulties arising due large differences between the sensitivities of natural frequencies and mode shapes. The proposed method, though intensive computationally, works successfully in the cases of both complete and incomplete data. The method also can predict with reasonable accuracy corrections required in analytical models with noisy data.
