    Let \(h^p\) denote the usual harmonic Hardy space (with norm \(\|\cdot\|_p\)) on the unit ball \(B\) of \(\mathbb{R}^N\) \((N\geq 2)\), and let \(d_m\) denote the dimension of the space of all homogeneous harmonic polynomials of degree \(m\) on \(\mathbb{R}^N\). Theorem 1 asserts that, if \(u\in h^1\), \(x\in B\) and \(\alpha\) is a multi-index with \(|\alpha|= m\), then \[ |D^\alpha u(x)|\leq m!(1-|x|)^{1-m-N} (d_m+ c_m|x|)\|u\|_1, \] where \(c_m= {m+N-3\choose m}\). (If \(N= 2\), then \(c_m=0\).) Theorem 2 says that, if \(u\in h^p\) \((1\leq p\leq\infty)\) and \(m\in\mathbb{N}\), then \[ |(\partial^m u/\partial x^m_1)(0)|\leq m!d_m C_{m,N,p}\|u\|_p, \] where the sharp value of \(C_{m,N,p}\) is given by a certain integral. In particular, the right-hand side of this inequality can be replaced by \(m!d^{1/p}_m\|u\|_p\) when \(1\leq p<2\), and by \(m!d^{1/2}_m\|u\|_p\) when \(p\geq 2\). These, and other theorems in the paper, generalize results of \textit{M. Goldstein} and \textit{Ü. Kuran} [Complex Variables 9, No. 4, 327-342 (1988; Zbl 0608.31003)] and the second author [Complex Variables 29, No. 2, 161-171 (1996; Zbl 0844.31001)], as well as some classical inequalities.
