\textit{W. Kohnen} [Math. Ann. 280, 267-283 (1988; Zbl 0617.10024)] conjectured \(p\)-adic congruences between certain cycle integrals where \(p\) is a rational prime, and also gave a proof for a special case. The conjecture is based on a generalization of Waldspurger's theory according to which the product of any two Fourier coefficients of a Hecke eigenform of half-integral weight can be expressed in terms of such cycle integrals. In fact, the ``square'' of Kohnen's conjectured congruences follow from Waldspurger's result and the work of \textit{N. Katz} [Ann. Math. (2) 104, 459-571 (1976; Zbl 0354.14007)] and \textit{Yu. I. Manin} and \textit{M. M. Vishik} [Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 95, 357-383 (1974; Zbl 0352.12013)] on \(p\)-adic interpolation of special values of Hecke \(L\)-series. In the present paper, the author proves the conjecture in general, under a certain additional condition. The proof uses original results by Kohnen and the techniques for \(p\)-adic interpolation of cycle integrals created by \textit{G. Stevens} [Contemp. Math. 174, 129-151 (1994; Zbl 0869.11042)].
