The author proves that if a sequence of rational functions \(\{r_n\}\) converges rapidly (in the sense of Gonchar) in measure to an analytic function, \(f\), on an open set \(\Omega\in \mathbb{C}^N\), than \(\{r_n\}\) also converges rapidly in capacity to \(f\) on \(\Omega\). Using the results of Gonchar the author concludes that for any \(f\) rapidly approximated in measure by \(\{r_n\}\) the sequence of Padé approximants \(\{\pi_n\}\) converges rapidly in capacity to \(f\) on its natural domain of definition. In particular for \(f\) meromorphic in \(\mathbb{C}^N\) and holomorphic in a neighbourhood of 0, the sequence \(\{\pi_n\}\) converges rapidly in capacity to \(f\) on \(\mathbb{C}^N\).
