A quasilinear parabolic equation with nonlinear boundary condition in a bounded smooth domain is considered. The diffusion coefficient which appears in the equation can vanish on the spatial boundary at a certain rate. By using a difference scheme from the method of lines it is proved that the considered problem has a unique global strong solution.
